Privacy
This is a small personal website for my books. It has no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. The only personal information I ever collect is the email address you give me if you choose to sign up for my newsletter.
The newsletter
If you sign up, the form collects one thing: your email address. It is sent to MailerLite, the service I use to run my mailing list, and stored there.
Signup is double opt-in — after you subscribe, MailerLite emails you to confirm it was really you. Your address is used to send you the free short story and my occasional newsletter about writing and the sin eater world. I don’t sell, rent, or share my list with anyone, and I don’t use it for anything else.
Every email I send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it removes you immediately and I’m not notified. You can also email me at jesse@jrsnyderauthor.com and I’ll remove you, or tell you what’s stored about you, or delete it entirely — whichever you’d like.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics — I have no idea who visits or how many of you there are. The site’s fonts are served from this domain rather than from a font network, so loading a page doesn’t tell anyone else that you were here.
The Aconite video
The music section shows a still image until you press play. Nothing is requested from YouTube before that, so simply visiting the page sends YouTube nothing. If you do press play, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com and Google’s privacy policy applies from that point on.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes basic technical information such as your IP address in order to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, and may set strictly necessary security cookies. I don’t receive this information or have access to visitor-level records.
Links to other sites
Links to Amazon, Goodreads, YouTube, Bluesky, and elsewhere take you to services I don’t control, each with its own privacy policy. This site earns nothing from these links.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed, email me and I’ll delete the address.
Changes
If this policy changes, I’ll update it here and change the date below. Questions about any of it are welcome at jesse@jrsnyderauthor.com.
